Kinmount & Area: KLFS Feature Food Bank

Kinmount & Area Food Bank is a friendly, welcoming space that was established just three years ago. This volunteer-run service operates every other Thursday from 10am-1pm out of the Kinmount Baptist Church at 4937 Monck Road.

Grace McDonald, who orchestrates operations with her son Don Cousins, says "Don't ever call me president, I'm one of the workers." She adds that the Kinmount & Area Food Bank does not have a lot of volunteers, "But the ones we have are real good ones!".

The Kinmount & Area Food Bank offers a shopping style experience for visitors. Volunteers also make deliveries to nearby residents unable to access the food bank in person. Refreshments are offered to visitors as they enter. Recipes, featuring the foods available, are shared amongst the food bank community.

Grace and the rest of the team enjoy welcoming all through the doors of the food bank. She shares, "We enjoy our clientele, and they enjoy being here."
