A KAWARTHA LAKES FOOD SOURCE IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with mixed feeling that we say goodbye to Executive Director Roberta Sommerville.
Roberta has been with the Kawartha Lakes Food Source from the very beginning, fourteen years ago. Since then she has worked to grow strong bonds with member food banks, volunteers, local schools, as well as numerous businesses and community leaders. She has been a monumental force behind the success of KLFS and in the fight against hunger in our community. From her support to the Board of Directors, to hundreds of fundraisers, to raising awareness in the community, to working with other food bank organizations in the province Roberta has always brought her commitment, knowledge and compassion to the table. Her leadership and dedication have been essential to this organization and she will be truly missed as she leaves KLFS to enjoy her retirement.
From all of us here at KLFS we sincerely thank you and wish you all the very best in the years to come Roberta!
The Recruitment Committee of the Board of Directors of the Kawartha Lakes Food Source is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Kirby to the position of General Manager. With the upcoming retirement of our Executive Director, Roberta Sommerville, we have taken the opportunity to update the position description which resulted in the change to the title of this leadership role.
Heather, a resident of Bobcaygeon, brings over 10 years working in the not for profit sector with expertise in program development and evaluation, Board support and community engagement. Throughout her career, Heather’s enthusiastic and collaborative approach with staff and volunteers as well as with the broader community has been influential in making positive impacts to support organizational goals.
Please join me in welcoming Heather to Kawartha Lakes Food Source. Heather will begin her orientation with us on June 20th and will assume her full responsibility on July 4th.
