KLFS fundraises while having a Jolly good time at the 14th Annual Lindsay Jolly Jog
October 10th, 2023 – City of Kawartha Lakes, ON - Save the date of November 18th because it is time for the 14th Annual Lindsay Jolly Jog!
Kawartha Lakes Food Source (KLFS) is excited to kick off the holiday season, with a festive and family-friendly morning that encourages you to go for a 5KM walk or run around Lindsay, followed by a hot lunch and prize giveaway for those most festively dressed.
The event is held to fundraise for Kawartha Lakes Food Source. The proceeds raised will help those facing food insecurity in the City of Kawartha Lakes this coming holiday season. KLFS provides fresh milk and eggs for food banks, purchases fresh fruit and milk to support student nutrition programs, and supports many other programs designed to get food to those who need it.
Collect pledges towards your 5K walk or run, as we work to reach our goal of $10,000 raised! Sign-up as a participant or support by pledging an amount toward a participant, and you’ll be a part of the festive fun! Registration is free, but we do encourage financially able participants to donate $20 or more per participant, as that amount is eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
“We can’t wait for the 14th annual run,” said Heather Kirby, Executive Director at KLFS. “What could be better than a morning dedicated to raising funds to combat hunger, combined with holiday festivities? Plus, the costumes are always spectacular!”

We operate from a centralized distribution centre; we collect food from reclamation sources; buy food in bulk; sort and store food; promote awareness of hunger and its impact; and coordinate fundraising. We provide food to member organizations on a monthly “fair share” basis.
