Coming April 2020…
Green Dishes is a waste reduction program designed to eliminate the need for disposable dishes at community events. In a nutshell, organizations or individuals can borrow dishes, cutlery, and utensils for a set donation by completing an order form and agreeing to terms and conditions. Dishes are then picked up by the borrower, used, cleaned, and returned to the Kawartha Lakes Food Source. All proceeds go towards ending hunger in the Kawartha Lakes.
By putting food on our Green dishes, you can help the Kawartha Lakes Food Source fill more plates in our community.
Please note that at this time, our dishes are an eclectic set, filled with different and fun patterns and colours. We cannot yet offer matching dishes.
For additional details on pricing and conditions, please click the link below for our Green Dishes Agreement Form. To place an order, please call us at 705-324-0707 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG) of Peterborough, who let us adopt this program and introduce it to our community here in the Kawartha Lakes. OPIRG works to create and sustain student and community-based engagement through research, education and action on social justice and environmental issues; challenging oppression in all its forms; and using consensus-based decision-making in a non-hierarchical and accessible setting.
