What is a Bee Hotel?
A Bee Hotel is a nest for solitary bees. Not all bees live in colonies, and solitary bees lay their eggs in tiny holes in old logs and trees. Solitary bees are endangered and their natural habitat for nesting is shrinking. Bees are a important part of the growing process of many fruits and vegetables as they pollinate flowers.
Creating and placing a Bee Hotel in your garden can provide these bees with a safe place to nest thus helping their population to grow.
KLFS will be providing materials and instruction for you to build your own Bee Hotel!
This event will be free of charge and just requires registration before hand. Food or money donations are always welcomed.
This activity will be held on Sunday July 23rd, 2017 from 11am-1pm at the KLFS Warehouse location located at 41 George St. W. in Lindsay
